I have a slight confession to make: I spend too much time on Facebook. I originally got an account just before I moved to Ireland, over 7 years ago, so I could more easily keep in contact with my crotchfruit. But you know how things are… and now, while I don’t spend hours and hours on there, I probably spend too long gawping at inane and pointless shit.
And the most inane and pointless of all?
All that motivational bullshit you see (rule of thumb: the more of this stuff someone posts, the more sure you can be they’re sad losers not taking their own medicine).
Anyway, I saw this this other day and thought you might be amused (I certainly was).
Thing is, this kind of syrupy motivational claptrap isn’t confined to Facebook. You get entire books and seminars devoted to it.
Oh, how unlike the style of our own dear Grow Your Business FAST.
As The Blurb says:
Do NOT read this book if you are easily offended. Jon McCulloch has been dubbed “The Evil Bald Genius”, for reasons that will become clear as you immerse yourself in this thought-provoking book. But be warned – Jon’s scathing and uncompromising style and language are for neither the sensitive nor the faint-hearted. In fact, in Grow Your Business FAST there’s something guaranteed to offend everyone.
But that’s OK, because Jon isn’t in the business of winning friends and influencing people, not if it comes at the expense of hiding or obfuscating the truth about what it takes to succeed legally, morally, ethically, and entirely above board in business in today’s dire economy, despite recession, crap government, and tight-arsed banks. So if you’re looking to have your hand held and your fevered brow mopped with gentle, loving hands, you’d be best advised not to read this book, because you won’t like it.
On the other hand… if you’re serious about increasing your sales by 100% or more within the next three months, you’re prepared to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in to some seriously hard work, and you’re not timid, faint-hearted, or unwilling to ruffle a few feathers, then this is the book you’ve been looking for.
A bit like your beloved EBG: tough, in-your-face, and no-nonsense. Sound advice to make you a shitload of money.
